7/20/12

Where, oh where has July gone? IT'S ALMOST AUGUST. Woah...

I'm so freaking excited for this year. I hope it will be the best yet. (And I already know it will.)
I can't wait for school to start.
          I can't wait for all-state.
          I can't wait to be a senior.
          I can't wait to graduate.

But along with the long list of excitements, I have to remember that some things take time...
Like growing up.

A string of questions haunt my thoughts:
Where am I going to go?
What am I going to be?
Where am I headed in life?
         What should I do?
         What shouldn't I do?

Maybe when the time is right the right path will light my way, and I fervently hope it shows itself soon.

7/6/12

Beauty is in the darkness that hinders vision
from pen to paper.
When the wind blows through the trees
in a melody that can only harmonize
with itself.
Or the stars that refuse
to shine,
when the stubbornness of a cloud
wants its fifteen minutes of fame.
When the weeds sway with
the breeze
and you hear the music
though the radio is silent...
Or as the sun moves on
to shine on more magnificent things
so that the moon can teach its pupils a lesson
of morality.
And as the light fades, the writer can
no longer see
the lines on the paper of which he writes.
Maybe the sounds of urban life cannot
be muted,
no matter what actions are taken to remain
rural.
Maybe the only way out is up?
And when the eyelids
of determined children
begin to droop
and a small inkling of hope arisies
in humanity;
only then will beauty
truly
be
beautiful.
